A promotional email for the GigaPan system landed in my inbox recently, you may recall wolf blitzer going bananas over this device when he saw it demonstrated at Obama's inauguration. For as little as $350 bucks you can take a panoramic image that uses over 400 captures to get some fairly great detail.
I guess if this doesn't prove it to you nothing else will, somebody's watching. There is no such thing as privacy when you leave your house any longer. To be fair, anyone with a good telephoto lens could have taken a peep shot at the beach for years now... however, technology is getting cheaper.
