Specialized Generalist

NYC is a saturated market and in order to survive one needs to specialize.  I have concentrated my efforts over the past few years on conceptual photo illustration work, but like most photographers, I was trained as a Generalist/Specialist.  That is to say, one needs to have a specific point of view but should also know how to do a little of everything.

(Wikipedia - Generalist may refer to: a person with a wide array of knowledge, the opposite of which is a specialist.)

Consumer Reports ShopSmart Magazine (above) is a great, consistent client and for them I shoot everything from food to concepts.  Family Circle (below) is another excellent editorial client for whom I shoot a lot of cosmetics and home items.
